Our Rooms
Registered to accommodate 8 babies aged from 9 months to 2 years. Little learners allows for babies to be individuals so they can sleep and eat when they need to and play when they choose to.
As babies become toddlers, they are ready for new challenges and opportunities which await them in a safe but exciting environment, with lots of freedom to explore the great outdoor space.
LITTLE LEARNERS
Our baby/pre toddler room for children aged 9 months to 2 years is designed to offer a home from home environment. We provide a rich and stimulating environment, indoors and outside, so that children can choose their own play and activities. This allows all babies and pre toddlers to experiment and explore through a variety of play and sensory experiences using real life objects, natural resources and equipment to stimulate and encourage development. Your child’s day will be organised so that they can take part in a variety of child chosen and adult led activities and if your child requires quiet time during the day this will be catered for.
Our staff are all trained in Level 2 and 3 childcare qualifications and the Room Leader is a Level 6, who all support the children in a warm calm environment.
We have an online programme called Tapestry which records your child’s time whilst in our care. To get the full benefit of the Learning Journey you will have complete access so you can comment on what your child has been up to in the nursery and add photos and activities that they have been involved in at home.
A full record of nappy changes, feeds, sleep times and activities are recorded and fed back to you.
We aim to work closely with parents and carers and mirror home routines.’
Breast Feeding
We aim to make mothers feel comfortable in our nursery should they wish to breast feed their babies whilst here.
The baby’s routine will be discussed with the mother and key person and arrangements made for the mother to come in and feed their baby if you so wish.
Expressed milk can be stored either in our milk fridge or may be brought into nursery frozen.

GREAT EXPLORERS
This room is a great place for small people to explore. The play space includes a home corner, messy play, mark making and a cosy quiet zone with comfy cushions and a place to hide in the wigwam. The outdoor space offers lots of opportunities for developing large gross motor skills by climbing, balancing, running and jumping. We encourage outdoor play all year round and offer a variety of planned activities and opportunities to explore and develop the child at their own pace. We are registered to have up to 10 toddlers, and all children will have several visits before they start to help them to settle in.
The room leader is an experienced and fully qualified member of staff. Additional staff in the room are either level 2 or 3 qualified, with some staff studying to gain these qualifications.

PRESCHOOL
The spacious preschool environment naturally allows play and learning to develop as stimulating resources are set up in a way to be inviting to the children to explore independently. Our skilled staff are always ready to step in and lend a supporting hand to ‘teach’ when the opportunity arises. Staff support children in a sensitive way allowing them to find their own solutions to problems and discuss ideas using skilful questioning which can encourage them to collaborate and learn from each other. The room is well designed with your child in mind and because of this, children learn through play from the moment they arrive. The room has an inviting home corner full of real and interesting objects, water play, creative area and of course plenty of space to play and construct with the open-ended resources available. Toys are stored at eye-level to encourage the children to choose, use and put away their resources independently. The room also has a bathroom with accessible (low level) toilets.
As with the other rooms in the nursery, the children have lots of wonderful opportunity to explore and play in the spacious outdoor area, taking risks and challenges with loose parts, digging in the walk in sand pit or creating a delightful menu in the mud kitchen. In the Summer term, the children moving onto school get to experience Forest School.
The Pre-School room has a qualified and very experienced Room Leader leading a team of staff that are either level 2 or 3 qualified, with some staff studying to gain these qualifications. Our preschool is registered to take up to 21 children
